We can see through walls! The Ability to Detail
Corrosion without Destruction
Using Giatec’s patented technology, iCOR is a non-destructive testing tool that enables Infracorr to perform detailed corrosion evaluation of reinforced concrete structures without the need for an electrical connection to the rebar. Using this device eliminates the need to drill any holes to physically expose the rebar, making the technology non-invasive and rapid.
iCOR uses wireless technology to transmit data to a tablet, where corrosion information can be stored, visualised and accessed any time, making condition assessment a time-efficient and precise practise.
Infracorr is known for continually pushing the envelope towards advanced technology and introducing state-of-the art equipment to Australia. Utilising Giatec’s iCOR, we aim to make corrosion rate measurement a non-invasive technique. Unlike other commercial devices, eliminating the need to form an electrical connection to rebar makes iCOR an innovative and convenient approach for corrosion rate measurement in field investigations.
Fast: measurements within seconds
Real-time: contour mapping of corrosion rate, electrical resistivity and corrosion potential
Accurate: comparable to laboratory techniques
Truly Non-destructive: no concrete breakout required
Non-subjective: algorithm-based interpretations
Efficient: rapid measuring means multiple elements can be measured in a short time
iCOR is able to record measurements in seconds, mapping the rate of corrosion and electrical resistivity of concrete with precision. Infracorr believes that Australia will benefit for years to come with the introduction of advanced tools which enable a more complete understanding of a structure’s condition.
According to Infracorr’s Managing Director, Ian Godson, unless we unite as professionals in helping big innovations spread across the globe, we will miss out on advances that can revolutionise the industry’s approach to asset management. “Identifying advancing technology which can provide better quality data, faster, is vital in our industry in which major project decisions can depend on the level of detail and the surety provided by assessment” states Godson.
Giatec’s iCOR launched in Canada and has been adopted by industry leaders across North America, Europe and Asia. Infracorr leads the Australian corrosion industry yet again, keeping technology at the forefront to deliver the most accurate outcomes for its clients.
